About The Speaker

Ed Krueger has 30+ years of Information Technology experience, a Business Administration degree in Finance and Economics, 17 years as in business system consulting, and is currently a Process Re-engineering Consultant.

 

Through the years Ed has been a system software programmer, an application developer, a business analyst, a testing team leader, a project manager, a manager of application development, and a consultant.

 

Ed received his CDP/CCP certification as a computer professional in 1980.

 

Ed is a member of the Wisconsin Association for Systems Management (WASM) since 1977 and is currently serves as the associations Treasurer and is a member of its Board of Directors. Ed is also a member of NaSPA, ACM, and IEEE Computer Society.

The XSLT Standart Library can be found at http://xsltsl.sourceforge.net/.  I recently used version 1.2.1 for an airport flight information data system to format dates and times flights were arriving.  The code was simple to use and well documented.  It is distributed as a zip file and in order to use it you just need to include a directory with the library in it.  In order to keep it simple I named the directory with the version.

I just completed a day and a half training on BuildForge. BuildForge was recently acquired by IBM and added to their Rational suite of software development and process control tools. I was impressed with the tool's approach. This tool is not for the faint at heart it comes with a substantial price tag, but for medium and large IT shops it could be just what you need to automate your build and deployment.

FireFox allows the community to develop Add-ons for the FireFox web browser.  These Add-ons are distributed freely from https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/.  I have found some of these Add-ons to be very useful.
